The report from the October 31, 2008, Community Sustainability Forum: Building Partnerships and Tools to Advance Local Sustainability, has been released by the City of Tucson, Office of Conservation and Sustainable Development (OCSD). The 86 page report can be downloaded on the OCSD web site link www.tucsonaz.gov/ocsd/docs/ocsdreport2008.pdf
The Forum was a collaborative effort of the City of Tucson, Pima County, Pima Association of Governments and The University of Arizona. The Tucson - Pima Metropolitan Energy Commission was also a sponsor. Eight topic areas were discussed by over 120 community members. Sharon Megdal, WRRC director, facilitated the "Sustainable Use of Water Resources" discussions.
OCSD is taking the report to community groups to use as a tool to help create a sustainable region starting at the grassroots level.
