DeIaco, Figure 3: From fire hazard to economic opportunity

Thanks to the Ruidoso Community Forest Management Plan, the need to maintain forest health and reduce fire hazards in the Ruidoso Wildland-Urban Interface has resulted in economic opportunities for local businesses. This photograph shows the high-grade mulch that is being produced from vegetation removed from the forest in order to maximize forest health.
