Area of Interest:
Molecular basis of host-pathogen interactions using the plant pathogen Magnaporthe grisea and the mammalian pathogen Coccidioides immitis as models. 

Research Goals:
Characterize Avirulence genes in the Rice Blast Fungus, Magnaporthe grisea.  Determine the role of chitin synthases in progression through the infection cycle of the Valley Fever Fungus, Coccidioides immitis
