The Safford Branch Experiment Station was acquired in 1946 with state and Graham County Farm Bureau funds. The site was selected because of unfavorable salinity and high sodic characteristics in it's soil and water. The experiment station has had Five Superintendents: Mark Bliss, Larue Chapman, Fred Turner Jr., Roy Rauschkolb, and Jim Park; Two Managers: Max Thatcher and Eddie Carpenter; One Director: Lee Clark |
