Changing Your Slirp Connections
This document will provide instructions for setting up your
modem-connected computer to the COA server and allow you
to use applications such as Eudora, Netscape, Explorer, and
Telnet. This document is the main source of support for sLirP
setup. Please refer to this page before calling the Lab with
questions. If you get stuck we can answer general questions
for you over the phone or via email. Good luck with your
setup.
I. Download the following file:
AGSLIP.SCP
DIALUP.BAT -> use
this if you have Windows 95
DSCRPT.EXE -> use
this if you have Windows 95
Windows 95 Users --- Once you have these files downloaded
in C:\Temp, you can run Dialup.bat and it will set up Dial-Up
Networking. : Please refer to Setting Up Your Connection
further down on the page for continued instructions.
You should save this file into C:\Program Files\Accessories
so that later when we install this new script, things will
be greatly simplified. If you already have this file (it
was sent to you via E-mail as an attachment from us), then
we need to find it now and put it in the right place, otherwise
skip down to part II.
Click on Start, scroll up to Find, then click Files or Folders...
In the Named: field, type in agslip and click the Find Now
button...

Now at this point, you want to highlight
the most recent version that was found, and copy this file
(agslip) to C:\Program Files\Accessories. If you need help
with copying and pasting, you can call us here at the lab
(621-2489) for assistance.

box, which looks like this. Your current dial-up profile(s)
will be listed in the text area on the left (as shown in
the picture).
Select the profile for which you wrote the script and Select
Browse.

If you are using Windows 98:
Open up My Computer.
Next open DialUp Networking.
Right click on the DialUp Networking Connection you created
(Ag) and select Properties.
Press the Browse button.

Now select agslip.scp and click on Open.

When your script is working properly, select
the Start terminal screen minimized option to keep the script
window minimized when you connect and uncheck step thru script.
Press the Apply button (it's best to keep the Dial-up Scripting
Tool dialog box open until you finish troubleshooting your
script) and get ready to try your script!
When you are certain it works, you can press OK to close

you connect for the script to work. Be sure to uncheck step
thru script first.

to access your connection.

says you
are connected, run your favorite client software.
