Course Description Uses
economic theory and methods to analyze the incentives generated by public
policies, including: measuring social costs and benefits; the economic
rationale for public policies; non-market valuation methods; efficient
resource pricing; and least cost attainment of policy objectives. Focus
on U.S. environmental regulations, water and public land management.
Prerequisite: One full semester of natural resource economics or microeconomics (AREC 217 or AREC 376 or ECON 201A, ECON 300, 361, or equivalent). Calculus (MATH 113, MATH 124, or MATH 125) or equivalent recommended. |
