Water Wise Youth EducationWater Wise Youth Curriculum Guide Hydrology of the San Pedro River, Arizona video Water Wise Youth is a University of Arizona Cooperative Extension water conservation youth education program sponsored by Cochise County and the city of Sierra Vista, Arizona. Water Wise Youth is designed to help teachers incorporate water education in the classroom. An instructional specialist from the program is available during school hours to help local teachers by leading presentations, activities and discussions with provided curriculum material. Three interactive educational aids are available for teacher's use: The Groundwater Flow Model, the Enviroscape and the Cochise County Water History Trunk. Contact us at 520-458-8278 Ext. 2141 2012 Water Wise Youth Poster Winners “It’s All in a Water Wise Day!”, The theme of the 15th annual water conservation poster contest for grades 3-6 in eight Sierra Vista area schools challenged local judges who reviewed over 400 submissions. 2012 Water Wise Youth Photo Contest Winners “Celebrating Cochise County’s Water Story" This year, in honor of our state centennial, Joyce Clark Middle School students participated in the first annual photo contest. Six prints from four 7th grade students were received and judged.
The winners of both contests are being recognized at the April 3rd School
Board meeting and the April 12th Sierra Vista City Council meeting.
The photographs were displayed in the March 27th edition of the Sierra
Vista Herald while some of the winning posters were printed in the March
31st Water Awareness Month insert of the local newspaper. All participants
will be eligible to attend a Swim Party at the Sierra Vista Aquatic
Center or Cove, Friday, April 13th ,from 3-5 p.m. Thank you to all the
