Green Tea Intervention for Weight Gain Prevention Among Women with Breast Cancer

A randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled green tea intervention trial among women undergoing chemotherapy for Stage I or II breast cancer. Seventy pre- and postmenopausal women will be randomly assigned to consume 4 cups/day of green tea or placebo tea for 12 months.

To date, 48 overweight breast cancer survivors have been recruited, 24 have completed at least 6 months of the intervention, and 4 have completed 12 months.

Study recruitment ended in November of 2006 with initial results expected in Spring 2007.
