The University of Arizona

CALS is complex college, with on-campus academic departments, research centers around the state, and extension offices in each county and some Indian Researvations. In addition, the college works with other land-grant universities on joint projects and is involved in on-campus interdisciplinary projects within the college and with other University of Arizona colleges.

Welcome to a description of how CALS is governed and how shared governance works. Shared Governance at the University of Arizona and CALS can be described as a general commitment on the part of faculty, staff, students, and administration to work together to strengthen and enhance the college and the university. Shared governance reflects mutual respect and trust in the university community for contributions by all members (from UA Shared Governance Guidelines).
