Dealing with Missing Web Pages, 6.5 minutes. As you start to delete older web pages or folders or change the filenames for previous files, you need to set up a page that displays to site visitors if they try to find a page which no longer exists.

More videos about using FormHandler. Information from HTML web forms on the College server are normally proccessed using FormHandler. These new videos describe creating an email template, creating a data template and log file, referencing the files needed by FormHandler, importing data from a datafile into Excel, and steps needed if you do not require email on your form.

Working with style sheet rules. There are fourteen videos linked from this page, all dealing with creating and using style sheet rules. Videos range from an overview introduction to CSS, creating rules using the Properties Panel in Dreamweaver, creating 2- and 3-column layouts using rules, and creating a print style sheet.

Converting older web pages. A series of videos illustrating steps one might need to follow to convert older web pages using embedded font codes and a table layout to pages using style sheet rules and layout using style sheet rules. Includes video on making a template for a site.

Setting up a Google search. This video shows the steps to set up a Google search for your own site or for favorites sites you want to search as a group. It includes information about how to add a code to the head area of a web page to stop crawlers, like Google, from searching that particular page. The video runs 23 minutes.

Using Dreamweaver 8 to Put a Video on a Web Page. This video shows the two steps needed to convert a digitized videoclip (in this case a Windows Media file) to a Flash video and then how to link the Flash video on a Dreamweaver web page. Other issues to keep in mind are also discussed. This video runs 27 minutes and should be viewed on a monitor set at 1280 x 1024 pixels to avoid having to use the scroll bars to view the entire video.

Online Course Delivery. This 17-minute video briefly talks about these tools available to University faculty and staff for online course delivery: D2L, Moodle, Breeze, a password protected folder on CALS, listservs, blogs and podcasts. This presentation was originally given at an Extension Communications Workshop in March 2007.

Creating a Screen and Print Style Sheet in Dreamweaver. This video shows how to take an existing internal style sheet, export it as a screen style sheet, make changes in the screen style sheet for a print style sheet and reference both of these style sheets in the web document. This assumes some understanding of use of tag, class and ID selectors. In this example, I illustrate some fairly drastic changes, like removing colors from the screen display so the print only has black and white, dropping the display of a navigation area in the print version, and even dropping graphics in a header area, while leaving graphics in the content section. The run time is 17.5 minutes.

Working with Permissions on the CALS Server illustrates how to connect to the CALS server using Telnet, how to check files to see permissions, and the command to change permissions so others in the web group can edit the files. The run time is 16:25 minutes.
