How to Use the Proxima 9250
with Your Laptop Computer

(for Mac Go Here)

Step 1: Locate the VGA cable.  This cable connects the projector to your laptop.

Step 2: Attach the VGA cable to either COMPUTER 1 or COMPUTER 2 on the projector and secure with thumbscrews. Do not over tighten!

Step 3: Attach the VGA cable to the monitor port on the back of the laptop. This port is usually colored blue. Again, do not over tighten!

Step 4: Push the Main Power Switch on the REAR of the Proxima to the ON position. Main Power Switch
Step 5: Depress the yellow Power button on TOP of the Proxima. This button turns the lamp on and off. Power Button on Top
Step 6: Wait approximately 30 seconds for the Proxima’s countdown to complete. Upon completion, the unit will be warmed up and ready to go. Warm Up Display
Step 7: Adjust the Proxima’s focus by using the FOCUS buttons located on the TOP of the projector. Adjust Focus
Step 8: Adjust the size of the projected image by using the ZOOM buttons located on the TOP of the projector. Adjust Size
Step 9: Use the Proxima’s COMPUTER button to switch it’s input to COMPUTER 1 or COMPUTER 2 (depending on which one you plugged the VGA cable to). Select Input
Step 10: Power on the laptop. Power on the Laptop
Step 11: Locate the FUNCTION key on your laptop. It is marked FN and it’s text is usually tinted blue. Locate FN key
Step 12: Choose where your image is projected. While holding down the FN key, tap the laptop’s display key. This is usually F7 or F8 on your keyboard. It is also usually marked as “CRT/LCD”or has an icon resembling a TV set. Tapping this key will choose where the image is projected — On the laptop only, on the projection screen only, or on both. Wait 5 seconds after tapping this key to allow the computer to respond to the command. Send Signal to Proxima
Step 13: To turn off the Proxima, push the yellow POWER button located on the TOP of the projector. You will be presented with a “POWER OFF?” confirmation on the screen. Press the button again to shut off the lamp. Note: If you turn off the lamp, you will not be able to turn it back on for 1-2 minutes. Power Off
Step 14: Wait 3-5 minutes for the lamp to cool. The projectors fan will shut off after it is sufficiently cooled. Once this has occurred, turn the main POWER switch, located on the REAR of the Proxima, to the OFF position. Shut Down
