Basic Web Images from Photoshop 7

Lesson 4: Comments for 6.0 Users

Tonal adjustments

In version 6.0 tonal adjustments (levels) is found under Image on the main menu, then Adjust, not Adjustments as in the 7.0 release.

Color balancing

In version 6.0 color balancing is found under Image on the main menu, then Adjust, not Adjustments as in the 7.0 release. Also there is no option under Adjust for Auto Color. Color adjustments must be done using the Color Balance selection.

Using preset styles

Preset styles are not found in the 6.0 release. You would have to create your own "styles" by using the effects option on layers.

Doing rollovers in ImageReady

ImageReady can be used to generate the HTML code in this version. However, if you go the Window in the main menu, and pick Rollover, the palette does not appear in the same place as in version 7.0. Rollover is part of the set of special features at the bottom of the ImageReady screen, for doing animations, image maps, and slicing.

Clicking on the triangle brings up a set of choices, one of being New State. This is the same as New Rollover State in the 7.0 release.
