Last week's Annual Faculty Conference was a great success. A Special Thanks to Carol Willis and Russ Tronstad who co-Chaired this year's event, and to the entire Planning Committee for putting this program together. Congratulations to Paul W. Brown from Soil, Water, and Environmental Sciences for being named the 1999 Extension Faculty of the Year. He received a check for $1,000 and an engraved plaque celebrating this honor.

Congratulations to the following Poster Awards Winners. Monetary awards will be transferred into appropriate program accounts.
Outreach Education Category
First Place: "Tobacco Use Prevention Education", $275. Submitted by Marifloyd Hamil and Juanita O'Campo Waits.
Second Place: "Profit and Risk Management Analysis for Today's Rancher", $200. Submitted by Bob Kattnig, Jim Sprinkle, Trent Teegerstrom and Russ Tronstad.
Third Place: "National 4-H Impact Assessment Project", $150. Submitted by Allyson Baehr, Lisa Lauxman, Bill Peterson and Allison Titcomb.
Fourth Place: "Bone Builders - Osteoporosis Prevention Education", $100. Submitted by Sharon Hoelscher Day, Pam Davison and Linda Larkey.

Research Category
First Place: "Resistance of Elms (and Hybrids) to Elm Leaf Beetle", $275. Submitted by Steve Campbell, Mike Wagner (NAU), and Frederick Miller (University of Illinois Coop. Ext.)
Second Place: "Arthropod Diversity of Exotic vs. Native Robinia Species in Northern Arizona", $200. Submitted by Tom DeGomez and Mike Wagner (NAU).

* Four candidates for the Assistant/Associate Agent, 4-H Youth Development, Yuma County will be presenting campus seminars on Wednesday, December 22, 1999 in Forbes 307. Seminar Announcements have been distributed noting appropriate times for each candidate. The title of these seminars is: "Developing and Implementing Innovative 4-H Youth Development Programs in Yuma County."

* Congratulations to Beth Tucker, Coconino County Extension, who also received approval for Sabbatic leave.
