Tuesday Morning Notes

May 2nd, 2000

Nearly 150 College of Agriculture Retirees met last Saturday afternoon at El Rio Neighborhood Center for the Fourth Annual College of Agriculture Retirees BBQ. Over half of these special folks came two or more hours early to visit with their colleagues that they see only once a year since retirement. John Marchello provided a "melt in your mouth" shredded beef with BBQ sauce on a bun and there were dozens of salads and desserts to accompany the hot beef presentation. Barbara Jones, supportive spouse of one of the newest retirees, Howard Jones, brought her 30 member dance troupe, the "Hot Flashes", to perform a dazzling program following greetings from the Dean and Executive Council. The planning and organization of this event is managed by Patti Baciewicz and Shirley O'Brien and the retirees are most appreciative of their efforts.
