* On October 16, 2001, Yavapai County Cooperative Extension began
delivering the first Arizona Master Watershed Steward course to 20 new
volunteers in Prescott. Modeled after the Master Gardener Program, Master
Watershed Stewards will attend ten 3 1/2 hour classroom sessions and two
field trips covering a variety of natural resource topics (climate,
watershed, hydrology, geology, water quality, biology, botany, wildlife,
land use, law, and more). Extension personnel and local experts are
teaching the course. Master Watershed Stewards will volunteer to assist
Cooperative Extension in delivering natural resource programs within
Yavapai County. Russ Radden and Jeff Schalau are coordinating the course.
