My thanks to Paul Wilson who helped coordinate the 17th Annual Arizona Agribusiness Forum. Attendance was excellent on the day Phoenix held the parade to celebrate the World Series win of the Diamondbacks. Several of our faculty made excellent reports: George Frisvold, Barron Orr, Stuart Marsh, and Dan Osgood. Kai Umeda and Trent Teegerstrom moderated sessions. A good program!

* The faculty and students within the Controlled Environment Agriculture Program at the University of Arizona cordially invite you to the Second Annual Open-Greenhouse Celebration to be held Tuesday, November 20, 2001, 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM. * The University of Arizona's Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) is accepting proposals for research grants under the Water Resources Research Act, Section 104b. Funded by the U.S. Geological Survey, Section 104b provides support for small research projects on water-related issues of importance to the state and region. The WRRC expects to receive about $50,000 to fund research projects, although the federal budget has not yet been approved and we do not have exact figures. This year we are prioritizing applications that provide projects and support for graduate students. Only faculty members at Arizona's state universities may submit proposals. The start date for funded projects is March 1, 2002. The proposal guidelines are available on the WRRC web site: http://cals.arizona.edu/azwater/.
