We welcome Douglas Rautenkranz who will be working part time as interim Program Coordinator in the new AZ Forest Health Program, School of Renewable Natural Resources. *You are invited to a 2002-2003 Program Planning session for health education. We want to bring together all extension agents and specialists who are working in health promotion, including nutrition, physical activity, health preventative practices, healthy communities, and food safety. The session will be held April 18, 2002 from 1:00 pm-4:30pm, and April 19, 2002 from 8:00am-12:00pm in Tucson. Extension Programs will cover mileage and one night's lodging for all extension faculty who wish to participate. Please RSVP to Patti B. (by April 9, 2002) if you are able to join us.

*Don't forget to register for the Conference on Native American Issues: Professionals in Outreach Education. The conference is April 11-12, 2002 at the Arizona Historical Society, located at 949 E. *The School of Renewable and Natural Resources received a grant award in the amount of $200,000.00 from State Lands for their Extension "Fire Education Coordination" program.

*The CALS Spring awards banquet will be Friday, April 12, 2002, 6:00pm reception & 7:00pm dinner, Marriott University Park Hotel-Ballroom, 880 East Second Street. Lifetime Achievement awards will be given to the Cactus and Pine Course Superintendents Association of Arizona (GCSA) to John Kingston Smallhouse (posthumous), Dwayne Dobson, "Jake" Flake, Nancy Baggott Graham, F. Ronald Rayner, Raymond E. Reed, and Esther Don Tang. Young Achiever award will be given to Karen Salyers Haggard. Extensionist of the Year award will be given to Gerry Bohmfalk. *RSVP for the Arizona Agriculture Extension Association's Summer Meeting. It occurs in Payson, May 22-23, at the Inn of Payson (801 N. Beeline Hwy. 87, 1-800-247-9477, http://www.innofpayson.com/). Ask for Gov't rates. Highlights include a dialogue with Arizona State Land Commissioner Michael Anable and an ALL-HORT joint workgroup meeting, including AGDATA and digital plant imagery. Master chef DEAN FISH will barbeque for us at Rumsey Park. Tour options are: 1) Wildfire Risk in the Interface - Regional Payson Area Project (Demo Site Tour with Payson Fire Dept.); and 2) Self-guided tour of Tonto Natural Bridge State Park.
