Congratulations to all the award winners at the CALS 2002 Faculty Conference. The Extension Faculty of the Year Award -Timothy Dennehy. Epsilon Sigma Phi awards: Early Career Achievement - Lucy Bradley; Mid-Career Achievement - Janice Shelton; Distinguished Service Award - Shirley O'Brien. AAEA: Distinguished Service Award Winners: 2001 - Tom DeGomez, 2002 - Mary Olsen; Achievement Award Winners: 2001 - Kai Umeda, 2002 - Jim Sprinkle. More awards were presented and we will print their names as we receive them.

CALL FOR PAPERS A consortium of federal agencies and national groups (ARS, USGS, USFS, BLM, NSF, EPA and CUAHSI) is sponsoring the First Interagency Conference on Research in the Watersheds. The conference will emphasize research in instrumented, experimental watersheds and a primary conference focus is to engage stakeholders. Abstracts are due by 1 December 2002 and can be submitted through the conference web site at http://www.tucson.ars.ag.gov/unit/ICRW.htm.

Take some time to view the webcast presentations for Assistant/Associate Area Agent, Natural Resources, Tucson (Pima County) this position will have statewide responsibilities. Candidate Alix Rogstad's webcast will be Wednesday, September 25, 2002 from 2:15-3:00pm. and Mary Stuever's webcast will be Friday, September 27, 2002 from 1:15-2:00pm. ECAT would like to hear your priorities on possible class topics and methods of delivering these classes/demonstrations. Delivery methods are sessions on campus, sessions given through a web conferencing system (allowing you to stay in your office, but you would have to pay for your connection cost), web-delivered classes, or materials on a CD. Comments to this survey will be used to decide classes offered this fall and spring. Any CALS employee, student, or volunteer may fill out the form at http://cals.arizona.edu/ecat/classes/classpriorities.html. If you want to provide input, please respond by September 18, 2002.

The Annual meeting of the Pecan Growers Association will meet Friday, September 20, 2002, at the Palo Verde Holiday Inn. Registration begins at 8:00am and the program will start at 8:45.
