* Signing up for the CALS electronic newsletter: In meetings around the state
and through a mail survey to solicit reactions on whether or not Arizona Land
and People should be continued and in what format, we were surprised by the
number of requests that we received for an electronic college newsletter. Therefore,
we are about to launch a new companion to Arizona Land & People called CALS
NewsLine. This is based on the CALS Weekly Bulletin, but will be sent out once
a month. More importantly it is focused on an external audience. A sample issue
can be found at http://cals.arizona.edu/hypermail/web-contacts/0438.html.
As with the Weekly Bulletin, the articles will be very brief with a link to
more material online. We are sharing this information with you in case you want
to subscribe and for you to share a short notice about this electronic newsletter
in newsletters you distribute. To subscribe to NewsLine, fill out the form at
http://cals.arizona.edu/pubs/newsline/.
For further information contact Robert Casler, Coordinator of Publications and
Web, ECAT.
* "Distance Class" on Dreamweaver 4.0 Basics: ECAT will be giving a 6-week class
on Dreamweaver 4.0 basics, going from October 29 through December 3. There is
no charge for this class, but it does require a regular commitment of from 2
to 4 hours per week, to complete assignments, and a class project. There is
no face-to-face component in this class, so NO TRAVEL is involved. Class instruction
is done via a web site, so you have options on when you look at class materials
and when you complete assignments each week. For more details see http://cals.arizona.edu/ecat/classes/dreamweaver-class.html.
This class covers the same materials as in a similar class given this past spring.
Any CALS faculty, staff, or volunteer may take the class, but you must sign
up by October 18th.
