* The "stars" shone exceptionally bright this past Saturday at the Clover
Gala! The evening honored twenty-one volunteers who collectively represent
over 700 years of service to the 4-H Youth Development Program of Arizona.
Over 140 friends and family members gathered to salute the inaugural class
of Clover Medallion recipients into the Arizona 4-H Hall of Fame. The
honorees were piped in by Tod Gregoire. With Dr. William L. Peterson
presiding as master of ceremonies, the evening kicked off with a reception,
a harpist, and a trip down memory lane through the 4-H decades. Historical
memorabilia was assembled by Julie Adamcin and Tina Christiansen. The Dean
presented the welcome and a slide presentation ran during the meal. The
honorees were presented the Clover Medallion by Bill and me. Throughout
the meal and the presentation, the Rich Stanley Quartet played tunes
through the decades. A celebratory toast was given, bubbles were blown,
and poppers of streamers strewn. It was truly a "star" lit night at the
Centennial Clover Gala! "I wish to commend the State 4-H staff and county
personnel who did such a wonderful job in setting up the evening and the
many extension agents who facilitated the selection of the individuals who
were honored as well as who attended this recognition and fund raising event."
