On May 1, from 10:00-3:30,
the first "Development Day" program will be presented at the Maricopa County
Extension office (4341 E. Broadway Road, Phoenix). The program will focus on
developing and raising endowed funds for off-campus administrative units and
discuss endowments such as "naming" offices, rooms, armadas, landscapes, county
endowed "chairs," endowed volunteer funds, and projects. Lunch will be provided.
If you are interested in attending (with the approval of your unit head), please
RSVP to Steven Crofts (520-621-7145 or scrofts@ag.arizona.edu)
by Thursday, April 24. Questions, call us at 621-7205.
During March and April, the Extension Administrative Team met with almost
all Extension county administrators, faculty and program staff. The final
county visit will occur May 15 in Pima County. During each of these
visits, a Civil Rights Training session has occurred. A new document, the
University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Civil Right Responsibilities
Desk Audit, has been introduced. This desk audit provides an organized
way to measure achievement of civil rights goals and responsibilities.
There are actions under each goal and a place for the County Extensions
Director to sign off that the goals were achieved or a statement of future
actions to achieve the goals. The desk audit will be completed on an
annual basis and submitted to the Director of Extension. We have
appreciated the thoughtful questions and discussions that have occurred
during the training sessions concerning our ongoing civil rights
responsibilities. Please remember to document this training opportunity
and file the desk audit in the central civil rights file in your office.
As a part of the State Office's reorganization, my phone number is changing
from 621-7209 to 621-7205, effective immediately. If you do call the old
number, a recording will also inform you of the change.
