Tuesday Morning Notes

May 27, 2003

Over the past three days, the combined State offices of Extension & 4-H Administration have reorganized and some people have moved locations and/or changed phone numbers. Please make a note of the following changes: 1) the main contact # for both State offices is 621-7205 (the 3623 has been discontinued); 2) Glenda Thompson has relocated to Forbes 315, 621-3621; 3) Jennifer Stapp has relocated to Forbes 301, 621-7205; 4) Sandra Saad has relocated within the 4-H offices but into Room 321, 626-4086; 5) Joanie Craig's contact number is now 621-7206. You are encouraged to use each person's direct # to contact them. In addition, please note that my phone number is now 621-7205 (the old number of 621-7209 was discontinued several weeks ago). If you have any questions, contact us.

Congratulations to Trent Teegerstrom and his multi-state team who received the 2003 Western Agricultural Economics Association (WAEA) Extension Award for their project entitled "Ag Help Wanted." They will be recognized at the annual WAEA awards ceremony in Denver the afternoon of July 14.

Following is an excerpt that you all should be aware of from the current CALS carryover policy: "...unexpended budgeted funds in your accounts at the close of the fiscal year will revert entirely to the College. And...as before, units with year-end deficits in budgeted funds will have funds withheld from their FY2004 allocations to cover the shortfall." You can find the entire policy at http://ag.arizona.edu/aas/home/YEAREND03.htm. Remember the June 1st deadline to contact CALS Admin Services, if you need to work out a carryover plan. The deadline for carryover-related paperwork to CALS Admin Services is June 15, 2003.
