Park Romney, Associate Agent, 4-H, has been relocated from Graham County to Forbes on the UA campus as of today. He is working on specific tasks for the Director and is not part of the administrative faculty and staff team.

Navajo County has a new fax number, effectively immediately. It is 928-524-6272. Please make a note on your fax lists and programmable faxes.

You are invited to the Take Charge America (TCA) Financial Fitness Academy on October 29-30. It is sponsored by the newly established TCA Institute for Consumer Finance Education and Research in the School of Family and Consumer Sciences and will benefit FCS and 4-H agent programming efforts. Requests for proposals for IPM 3(d) funds and Farm Safety 3(d) funds have been issued. All interested faculty are invited to submit proposals regarding expenditure of these funds. Smith-Lever funds are available to land-grant university faculty with an Extension appointment. Criteria and guidelines are at: http://ag.arizona.edu/internal/programs/pfund03.html (coa userid and ua password required). Proposals are due to Deborah Young by September 19.

The University of Arizona Cotton Field Day will be held this year on Wednesday October 15, 2003, at the Maricopa Agricultural Center. This year's field day will include tours of the research fields highlighting current research in the areas of variety testing, minimum tillage and entomology test plots. There will also be a grower symposium, sponsored by the Arizona Cotton Growers Association, dealing with the pink bollworm eradication program and cotton seed development. There will also be a poster session at the Field Day, which is a unique opportunity for Extensionists and Researchers to showcase their programs and projects. Tables (3x8) will be available as well as poster boards (4x8). The next issue of FOCUS, the research report from the Institute for Children, Youth and Families, will be coming out soon. This issue will focus on fathers and families. October 9 - Cotton Field Day, Statewide Upland Cotton Variety Test, 8:00-11:00am, Wellton. Three hours of CCA CEUs have been applied for from Arizona and California. Directions: from I-8, take exit 29, travel North until 10th County Street, make left turn and drive West until 28E, make right turn, go to the second field north of 28E and 10th County Street.
