A special thanks to Mike Kilby who helped put on the Annual Pecan Growers meeting. Over 50 people attended. Bill McCloskey, Jim Walworth and Ed Martin made presentations, and Rick Gibson and Rob Call assisted. A good program.

The Globe office is moving this week, from Wednesday, September 24 through Friday. September 26, and will be closed for three days. Their new physical address will be 5515 S. Apache Avenue, Globe, AZ, 85501-4367 (in Central Heights) and their new mailing address will be PO Box 167, Globe, AZ 85502-0167. Phone numbers will remain the same, but they will have new extension #'s that are not known at this time. Please make a note of these changes as appropriate.

The San Carlos Apache reservation extension office has just hired a new secretary, Celestina Fast Horse. She grew up on a cattle and sheep ranch near Gallup, New Mexico in the community of Naschitti, is a member of the Navajo Tribe, lives on the San Carlos reservation in the community of Cutter. and is married to a member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe. One of her two boys will soon become a member of the 4-H Cloverbud club. Celestina is very interested in promoting youth programs as well as doing administrative work in the office. Welcome, Celestina.

September 24 - 2003 Ag Production Workshop, 8:00am-1:00pm, Parker Elks Lodge, 714 Laguna Avenue, Parker. There are 3.5 CEUs granted for Arizona and 3 for California. Lunch included. Program will focus on multiple research topics and important issues facing agricultural production.
