Each county prepares a report for Supervisors and other appropriate county
people. These reports are quite informative and will be packaged for
delivery to the President and Provost. When these reports are ready, please
submit appropriate copies of the report to your supervisors, but send five
copies to me so that I might forward them to the Dean, the President and the
Provost.
The University IT community has submitted two policies relating to computer
use and security to the UA Administration, Faculty Senate, legal staff, and
other groups. The Acceptable Use of Computers and Networks at the
University of Arizona,
http://security.arizona.edu/uaacceptableuse.html has been fully approved and
is official policy. The "Information Security Policy" is in a draft stage.
Both apply to all University-owned computers, or other computers that access
University systems or networks, including Email. Please help your
Extension computer support team (i.e., Andy and Robert) by following these
policies. The key issues related to us seems to be that computers are
university property and computer support teams have the right to upgrade
security systems as needed. If faculty or staff refuse to have computers
upgraded, the computers will be taken off the system. Second, if computer
support team finds inappropriate use of computers, the computers will be
removed and personnel issues addressed.
Effective in January, the Pima County Extension Office will no longer have a
drop-off/pick-up basket in the Forbes Mailroom. All mail for Pima faculty
and staff must be sent directly through regular mail. Any mail found that
is not fully addressed will be returned to the sender.
Civil Rights Desk Audits were due February 16th.
