Joanne Littlefield joined ECAT July 1 on year-to-year funding with the task
of converting material from faculty Annual Performance Reports (APROL) into
one-page impact stories. Distribution will be done via the new Arizona
Delivers website ( http://cals.arizona.edu/delivers ). Joanne is no longer
located in the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension office. She is now
located at the UA Phoenix Center, 4001 N. Third St., Suite 120, Phoenix
85012, 602-212-9159. As a part of ECAT, she will coordinate with Susan
McGinley on federal impact reporting, news story placement, and magazine
article writing. You can send her story suggestions at

brings to these new efforts.
Park Romney has been reassigned to Maricopa County effective yesterday. He
will focus on Small Stock and Outdoor Discovery/Shooting Sports.
Ed Northam has joined Maricopa County as a project coordinator and contact
person for invasive weeds issues. His initial activities will be involved
with organizing and establishing a Central Arizona Weed Management Area
(WMA) that will be a collaboration of federal, state, and local agencies,
organizations, and individuals from within and around Maricopa County. Ed

Family and Consumer Sciences will have a name change effective immediately.
The official name will be John and Doris Norton School of Family and
Consumer Science. The abbreviated version will be the Norton School and,
when appropriate, the School can be referred to as FCS. For more
information about the Norton School, check the new website at http://ag.arizona.edu/fcs .
Congratulations to Darcy Tessman, Extension Agent 4-H Youth Development,
Cochise County for receiving the National USDA/Army Youth Development Award
by the National Association of 4-H Extension Agents.
A special note to acknowledge that Lynne Borden will Chair the Governors
Task Force on Youth Development and Bill Peterson will be a member.
The Arizona 4-H Youth Adult Council (YAC) meeting, which was postponed,
will be held November 13-14 at the Chauncey Ranch. We do appreciate the
cooperation of all counties working with us on this since there are always
conflicts with sports and county events. A recruitment deadline for the
county teams of 2 youth and 2 adults has been extended to October 1. For

CALS Staff In-Service 2004 will be held in Tucson on the UA Campus,
November 9-10. As a part of the Extension Staff Awards Banquet (to be held
the evening of November 9), three Extension Staff of the Year awards will
be given for 2002, 2003 and 2004. As you can see we have not met as often
as we should and we want to make up for lost time. Please submit your
recommendations for these awards by September 1 to Jennifer

February 22 - The Department of Agriculutral and Resource Economics has
scheduled their Annual Agribusiness Forum for 2005 to present a one day
conference at the Phoenix Hilton East in Mesa from 9:00-3:30. For more
