Congratulations to Patty Merk who is the recipient of the Ruth Cowden scholarship for the spring 2004-2005 academic year. Best of luck to you in your academic endeavors.

Congratulations to Kerry Schwartz, Director, Arizona Project WET (Water Education for Teachers), who received the Water Conservation Field Services Program Award from the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Lower Colorado Region. The agency presented the award to Ms. Schwartz on February 11 in recognition of her exceptional work in water conservation. A UA Water Resources Research Center Program, Arizona Project WET provides workshops and materials to Arizona teachers, grades K-12. Since January 2000, 1,913 teachers and educators have participated in the workshops reaching about 93,639 students each year.

UPCOMING DATES:

April 6: University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center's Annual Conference, "Water and the Environment: The Role of Ecosystem Restoration," will be held at the Radisson Hotel. The one-day conference will feature a mix of keynote speakers, panel discussions and commentary addressing this topic.
