Traci Armstrong Florian, an ASU senior dietetic major and an EFNEP Program Coordinator in Maricopa County, has been chosen as one of two student representatives appointed to the American Dietetic Association House of Delegates. She is the first Department of Nutrition student to receive this honor. Traci has been with the UA for almost five years and her dietetic major is directly connected to her job. Congratulations!!

The webcasting presentation for the Yavapai County Assistant/Associate Agent, 4-H Youth Development will be Monday, April 4, 2005. The title of the webcast is "Building the Capacity of the Yavapai County 4-H Youth Development Program; A 3 to 5 Year Plan For Success". On Thursday, March 24th there will be an AZ Cooperative Extension in-service held at the Omni Tucson National Resort in Tucson for Extension faculty and CED's. The meeting will begin at 1:45 p.m. in the Bella Vista Room and conclude at approximately 3:15 p.m. The subject of the in-service is "Following Financial Protocol". Representatives from the University of Arizona Financial Services Office will be giving presentations and will be available for a question and answer session. Members of the CALS Ag Admin Services office will also be present. Please RSVP to Joanie Craig (jcraig@ag.arizona.edu) as soon as possible so we can give a head count to the Omni. As of March 31st, Bill Peterson, Asst. Director, AZ 4-H Youth Development will be retiring after many years in Cooperative Extension. On Thursday, March 24th, there will be a retirement reception for Bill at the Omni Tucson National Resort. It will be from approximately 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Also, on Tuesday, March 29th there will be a cake and punch reception in the Forbes Building Lobby from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m. If you plan on attending the one at the Omni, please contact Joanie Craig (jcraig@ag.arizona.edu or 621-7206).

UPCOMING DATES:

March 23: Cotton/Melon Workshop will be held at Yuma County Cooperative Extension auditorium from 8:00-1:00 pm . Continuing Education credits have been requested. For more information contact Mohammed Zerkoune (zerkoune@ag.arizona.edu or 928-726-3904)

April 12: The Promotion and tenure/continuing status process and preparation of dossiers workshop will be held at the Student Union, Gallagher Theatre from 3-5pm. The workshop will be conducted in a way to give ample opportunity for individuals to ask questions about the review process. Material will be distributed that will be helpful as faculty members and professionals prepare their dossiers for review in 2005-2006. Instructions for preparation of dossiers will be distributed on April 1.
