Tuesday Morning Notes

May 24, 2005

My thanks to Rob Grumbles (Mohave) County and Buddy Borden (University of Nevada stationed in Las Vegas) for continuing their work and initiating a new economic study on the Bullhead/Laughlin area. Over 20 elected officials, community development coordinators, Chamber of Commerce directors and Human Resource people attended a meeting yesterday at the Power Generating Plant (scheduled for closure) in Laughlin.

Congratulations to Cathy Cromell, Maricopa County, Editor/Master Gardener Press who was recently selected as the 2005 Outstanding Arizona Book Publishers Association Member.

Billye Foster, Ruth Jackson and I participated in the 2005 National Diversity Conference in Greensboro, North Carolina. We gathered some ideas, tools and understanding particularly related to "respect in the work place" and building successful programs.

Please mark your calendar for this year's CALS Faculty Conference which will be held at the Westin La Paloma from August 23-25, 2005. This year's theme is "Bridging Science and Society." Registration and a tentative schedule will be available on-line in the next few weeks.
