Forty individuals including county faculty, EFNEP Nutrition Educators and ADHS Program Leaders attended the joint University of
Arizona Cooperative Extension and Arizona Department of Health Services meeting “Working Together: New Partnerships, Opportunities,
and Outcomes” on November 1 at the Halle Heart Center in Tempe. The purpose of the program was to increase knowledge of Cooperative
Extension and public health programs, identify opportunities for increased collaboration and develop common outcomes for programs.

Staff from 29 of the 31 Local Incentive Award projects participated in a training session on November 2-3 at the Phoenix Center for
the Arts. The training provided detailed information on FY06 policies and procedures for local agencies and Cooperative Extension
providing Food Stamp Nutrition Education services in Arizona. The new national dietary guidance system (MyPyramid) was introduced
and national nutrition education resources were highlighted.
Ruth Jackson and her EFNEP staff hosted the 4th Annual EFNEP Leadership Awards Luncheon on November 4 at the Maricopa County Extension
office. Each year Ruth and her staff celebrate agency leaders, Cooperative Extension Administration support and staffs’ significant
achievement awards.
With a recent break in at the La Paz County office, where they lost several computers and other equipment, I’d like to encourage all
units to be sure their inventory records are up to date and that “A” or “N” tags are affixed to all appropriate equipment. This is
important when it comes to insurance claims. In addition, be sure you have a system in place to back up files regularly. Equipment
can be replaced, but the inconvenience of data loss can have widespread effects.
