Please join me in congratulating Entomology faculty member John Palumbo, Research Scientist at the Yuma Agriculture
Center, who received the Distinguished Service to Industry Award from the Yuma Fresh Vegetables Association. The association includes
produce growers and shippers from Arizona and California. The award recognizes Dr. Palumbo's "many years of dedicated service" to the
industry. Congratulations, John!
The latest edition of the Extension Faculty/Staff Roster (3/31/06) is now available to download and print. It is the first version to
match what you find on the website version since they are both generated from the same database. Updates will be more frequent.

The University of Arizona Cooperative Extension's Summer Agricultural Institute is accepting applications from K-12 classroom
teachers. The Institute dates are June 12-16 and the application is available at
http://cals.arizona.edu/agliteracy/summer-institute.html. This is an excellent opportunity for any teacher who wants to learn about
the Arizona agriculture industry and then incorporate the information into their curriculum. Teachers receive 85 K-12 lessons that
have been aligned to Arizona's Academic Standards. Please help get this information to the teachers you work within your programs.
Ninety-two percent of the 2005 attendees rated the Institute as "more valuable" than other in-service programs they have attended.
For more information, contact Monica Pastor (602-470-8086, ext. 317).
