Interested UA faculty are invited to submit proposals to address local and statewide IPM Extension needs in applied research and outreach. Proposals are due to Al Fournier by December 7 . Approximately $50,000 is available. There is no maximum award; however, it is expected that 3-10 proposals will be funded under this RFP. The full Request for Proposals (RFP) is available on the new Arizona Pest Management Center website at http://cals.arizona.edu/apmc/. PEST MANAGEMENT PRIORITIES POSTED ONLINE:
Successful applications for many federal grant programs now require authors to provide documented evidence of stakeholder need. Integrated Pest Management (IPM) has recently posted the proceedings from the 2006 Arizona Pest Management Center Summit, a meeting that included clientele and stakeholder groups representing urban, horticultural, agricultural and natural lands pest management interests. IPM priorities for Arizona were identified in 4 breakout sessions focusing on 1) Agricultural and Cross-commodity IPM, 2) Community and School IPM, 3) Noxious and Invasive Weed Management, and 4) Urban Horticultural IPM. Priorities are available on the Arizona Pest Management Center Web site . Pest Management Strategic Plans compiled by the Regional IPM Centers also provide a source of commodity-specific pest management priorities and can be accessed on the IPM Centers Web site .
