FOCUS ON FACULTY & STAFF:
The Marlena Parrott and the Yuma County 4-H Ambassadors were invited to participate in opening ceremonies at the House of Representatives last week, meeting with our Representatives, Senator, Speaker of the House and the Governor. After lunch, the Ambassadors conducted the flag presentation and were invited to sit on the House floor to watch the proceedings. The Yuma County 4-H Leaders' Board provided transportation and lodging.
WEBCASTING PRESENTATION:
The webcasting presentation for the Area Assistant/Associate Agent, Agriculture (for Maricopa, Pima & Pinal Counties) will be Friday, March 30 . MEMORIAL SERVICE:
Last week we announced the passing of Ralph Taylor (husband of Shirley Jo Taylor , former 4-H specialist). A memorial service has been set for Ralph Taylor on Saturday, March 31 at 2:00pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 400 E. University Blvd., Tucson.

UPCOMING EVENTS & DEADLINES:
- The SmartScape Program will be conducting its Spring 2007 Turf Irrigation Management workshop on April 4 and again on April 10 . The sessions will be taught by Dr. David Kopec from 7:30am-12:00pm at the Karsten Turfgrass Research Facility (2101 E. Roger Road). The workshop is designed for those in the Green Industry responsible for the maintenance of large turf areas and will teach the basic biology of turfgrass, environmental and cultural factors that affect irrigation, irrigation auditing and scheduling, and problem solving skills. These workshops are sponsored by Tucson Water and are free to all participants. Space is limited, so register now to reserve a seat. - The 29th Annual Arizona/Nevada/Utah Range Livestock Workshop will take place in several locations from April 10-12 : April 10 Fairgrounds, St. George, Utah; April 11 Red Hills Best Western, Kanab, Utah; April 12 Field Tour leaving the USDA Forest Service Office in Fredonia at 9:00am Utah time. The workshop is hosted by the University of Arizona, Utah State University, Bureau of Land Management-AZ Strip District, USDA U.S. Forest Service, University of Nevada-Reno and the USDA Natural Resource Conservation Service.
