Hold the date for the 2008 Faculty Conference , August 19-21 , at the Omni Tucson National Resort (2727 West Club Drive , Tucson). The 26-member planning committee has been meeting to discuss the agenda, guest speakers and other activities relating to this year's event (including the presentation of the Faculty of the Year award). FOCUS ON FACULTY:

- Congratulations to Peder Cuneo who received the Outstanding Faculty Award from the Ag 100 Council last week.

- I am pleased to announce that Jeff Schalau was elected to the position of Western Regional Representative of the Association of Natural Resource Extension Professionals (ANREP).  Regional representatives serve on the ANREP Board, helping to plan the biennial conferences, and participate in monthly conference calls, act as liaisons to the various committees, and perform other duties upon request. Congratulations, Jeff.

- I want to thank Chris Jones and Mike Crimmins for coordinating and facilitating the Climate Science meeting in Laughlin , Nevada last week. Over 150 people attended and they represented a nice cross section of university, private sector and agency personnel concerned with the natural resources, wildfire, endangered species, climate warming and predictions of the future.
