Tour 4: Visiting Distributed Learning Sites
-- a university of arizona course on methods and approaches for studying the future

Distributed Learning covers many activities. It can be thought of as combing all types of learning (in the classroom, independent study, working in groups, internships, field campus, on-line courses) and in all ways (everyone present at one time or joining with others as some times, or working independently).

The term commonly is used as a synonym of "distance education", but it is much broader. Here are a few examples.

Distance Learning Resources
NLII - National Learning Infrastructure Initiative

California Virtual University
ADLNet - Advanced Distributed Learning Network
CU Online Gateway (University of Colorado Campuses)
American Distance Education Association (ADEC)
The World Lecture Hall (gateway to a number of on-line courses)
