"My contributions were going to a hole in the ground."Last weekend on the golf course I realized working on my short game wasn't making a difference in the long run. Now I spend one Saturday morning each month raising organic food for the hungry. And since fresh fruits and vegetables are important to everyone, local food banks get the food the same day we pick it. We help feed the 60 percent of Arizona's hungry who are over 65 and under 12, so I know the time I volunteer matters. With businesses and neighborhoods donating empty lots for gardens, and people like me helping plant and harvest, the food we raise goes a long way. Think you don't have time to help? When is your next tee time? To learn more about how you or your organization can donate time or resources call (602) 732-7910. |
