The University of Arizona Herbarium has a substantial library of books and journals. We are in the process of adding all of these to an online database, as yet incomplete but searchable:

Searchable ARIZ Book Database -- under construction! Please contact us for info if you are seeking a particular book -- we have loads of unique gems.

Most botanical journals and floras owned by the UA Main and Science Libraries are also housed here. You can search for these books using Sabio, the University's on-line library catalog. These books may be checked out like other library materials. Loan of these books follows the guidelines and policies of the university library.

Also available is a large collection of botanical reprints, filed by family (for taxonomic works) and by geographic area (for floristic works). There is also a small map collection, with emphasis on Arizona and the Southwest.

To aid in your quest for knowledge about plants of your world, we have written reviews of those tomes we find most useful in day-to-day plant work at the herbarium. See our pages for Arizona floristic works and non-Arizona floristic works to read these reviews.
