In the lists, the CAPITOLIZED names are citations of protologues, withas much of the type information given as available to me at the time thiswas compiled. Some of the species have been updated; others have not. Thisis a work-in-progress.

If I have seen the type/types, and have an opinion on the proper dispositionof the species, a lower case name follows. When this name is preceededby an equals sign, it is the name that I think is correct. A question markshows that I am uncertain as to the proper disposition of the name.

bee flower (Ipomoea laeta), bird flower (Ipomoea lutea), bat flower ( Ipomoea neei)

The names proposed for American members of Ipomoea are listed in alphabeticalorder by species name. To view a page, select the first letter of the species.
