4-H is the world's largest & most dynamic
informal educational program.
No matter where you live. . .
in the city, in the suburbs, or on a farm. . .
4-H has something for you!

What's Hot!

Maricopa County 4-H is operated under the direction of the University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. The basic Arizona 4-H program is designed for youth ages 5-18. Youth between the ages of 5 to 8 are in our non-competitive program called Cloverbuds. By teaching life skills, 4-H offers youth opportunities to grow and be challenged. There are almost as many project opportunities as there are youth to explore them. 4-H also offers adults a way to be involved with the youth of their community and truly make a difference in their lives.

The Mission of Arizona 4-H Youth Development is to provide educational opportunities for youth to become capable and contributing members of a global society. In support of this mission we will:

  • provide formal and non-formal community focused experiential learning;
  • develop skills that benefit youth throughout life through project work, personal development opportunities, leadership and citizenship; and
  • foster leadership and voluteerism in youth and adults.

In Maricopa County we collect an annual fee of $10 per member, unless the family/child is unable to pay and complete a waiver form. 4-H leaders have access to 4-H publications at minimal cost. We encourage the clubs, members, and leaders to enroll in the annual 4-H accident insurance available from American Income Life.

We also provide 4-H members opportunities in some exciting formats beyond the traditional club structure, such as:
- School enrichment curriculum
- After school programming
- Short term projects & Special interest activities
- Youth leadership retreats
- Summer youth camps
