Can you please direct this e-mail to whomever knows about wasp control.

I live in a mountain desert area - quite rural, as I am backed up to untold acres of undeveloped state land.  I have a problem with wasps drinking from my swimming pool.  There are so many, we can barely swim - in fact, we essentially only swim at night.  I have tried unsuccessfully to follow them to their nests - the terrain is quite rugged.  I have heard of a chemical, by word of mouth, that one can add to the water to upset the surface tension, making it difficult/impossible for the wasps to land and drink.  Does this exist? what is it? is it safe to put into a pool?
