In general, nectarines are not recommended for the Phoenix area due to
long winter requirements and susceptibility to thrips for which there is
no suitable control.
Surecrop nectarine is self-fertile but reported to have a winter chill
requirement of about 1,000 hours, way too high for the Phoenix area.
