Our local programs include:

  • Arizona Project WETArizona Project WET – educating children by educating their teachers, their leaders, and informal educators about water across the curriculum. Contact Pam Justice at pjustice@cals.arizona.edu.
  • Brown Bag Speaker Series – each month, an expert in the field of water presents information on topics ranging from water resource planning to rain water harvesting at the Maricopa County Cooperative Extension office during lunchtime.   • Fix A Leak Display – Discover what a little leak can really do, how quickly the water waste - and cost - adds up. The Fix A Leak display is an exciting hands-on experience for classroom use and community events; a great way to motivate students, homeowners, and water users in general to take control and Fix the Leak!   • Master Watershed StewardsMaster Watershed Stewards - Learn more about the watershed that you live in and get involved with local water conservation and restoration projects by becoming a Master Watershed Steward.   • RainLog.orgRain Log – empowering citizen-scientists to participate in a nation-wide effort to characterize local climate and rainfall. Contact Nancy Crocker at ncrocker@cals.arizona.edu
  • Smartscape - Learn more about desert friendly landscapes, the perfect plants for this arid region, and irrigation systems that can save water and money! We partner with Arizona Municipal Water Users Association (AMWUA) to offer Smartscape training for landscape professionals. Contact Summer Waters at swaters@cals.arizona.edu.
