- 16. Elizabeth Davison Named 2002 Year-to-Year Appointed Personnel Award of Excellence

Elizabeth L. Davison, lecturer, in the plant sciences department is the 2002 recipient of the Year-to-Year Appointed Personnel Award of Excellence at CALS .
Davison is an educator of students, both in and outside the classroom, an advisor and mentor to young horticulturalists, a respected contributor to numerous workshops and programs within the Arizona landscape industry, a sought-after speaker at garden club and related community
gatherings, an ambassador for and tenacious defender of campus native plants and gardens, and the founding director of the University of Arizona Arboretum.
In the course of a typical day, she interacts with students, staff, campus and county faculty, various members of the Tucson community, industry professionals and senior administrators of campus units ranging from Grounds and Maintenance to Campus and Facilities Planning to the UA Foundation. The scope of her activities goes well beyond reasonable expectations for her position (and salary) and, in these varied activities, she exhibits the qualities and standards that make us all proud to be members of this college and University community.
