Retailing experts will speak on current issues and perspectives at the eighth annual Global Retailing Conference, highlighting High Performance Transformation: Innovation That Works on April 10-11, 2003.
The event, held at the Marriott University Park Hotel, at 880 E. Second Street in Tucson, is sponsored by the Southwest Retail Center for Education and Research at the University of Arizona.
Corporate executives there will focus on retailing in a global economy and will explore strategies to stay competitive in a changing market, and by understanding how technology can drive innovation in every business process, from the supply chain to customer services, according to Melinda Burke, director of the Center.
Tim Sanders, chief solutions officer at Yahoo!, will present a special session on leading practices and solutions for retail success in the future through simplicity and choice reduction. Additional sessions will include best business practices in transforming the customer shopping experience, business processes and technologies that are transforming retail business and how a proper infrastructure can drive improvements in sales and profits.
Speakers will include executives from Mattel, Estee Lauder, JDA Software, Neiman Marcus, Quiksilver, TBWA/Worldwide, IBM, TCI Solutions and Wal-Mart
Participants will include retail personnel, managers and executives, consultants, franchisers, marketing executives, franchisers, marketing executives, consumer researchers, business representatives, educators and students. The conference is also open to the public.
