Theme: “Origin and Evolution of Nematode-Bacteria Associations”
Tentative Activities:
- Review current data on nematode and bacteria phylogenies
- Examine the strengths and weaknesses of tools available to study host-symbiont co-evolution
- Discuss host-range specificity and microbial niche expansion in the context of the evolution of nematode bacteria associations.
- Use comparative analyses to identify common molecular interactions dictating nematode-bacterium symbiosis.
- Examine the mechanisms by which symbiotic organisms acquire the molecular functions necessary for symbiosis.
- Review of the 5 years of the RCN
- Evaluation of benefits from network association
- Discuss on the future of the network.
