Ecotourism and the desert whale: Fishing camp in Magdalena Bay

As whale-watching tourism in Baja California began to become more popular, more outside tour companies began leading trips to the area. Many of them set up informal, and often poorly regulated, camps around the whale-watching areas. This photograph shows a camp in Magdalena Bay in 1994.
