OFFICE OF INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS

MISSION

The Office of International Programs (OIP) is part of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) at The University of Arizona. It serves four major functions by directing its activities toward:
  • identifying program directions and priorities with the aid of CALS departments and faculty.
  • focusing on project proposal development in line with CALS departments/faculty capabilities and interests in international research and training.
  • attracting sponsored international students to attend the CALS.
  • searching various databases for information on potential international projects and circulating this information to appropriate faculty and departments.
  • producing a quarterly report summarizing all current activities.

In addition to the activities outlined above, the Office of International Programs also directs the activities of the Peace Corps office on campus. This entails responding to inquiries, requests for applications, interviews and nominations. In this mission, the UA Peace Corps office has been very successful. In fact, The University of Arizona ranks 22nd of all colleges in total recruitment of Peace Corps volunteers since the Corps' inception in 1961.

The activities of the Office of International Programs are overseen by:
