The Pima County Cooperative Extension SmartScape Program is a landscape water conservation program that was initiated in 1990.  This project has been funded by Tucson Water and other grants. The original name, Low 4, refers to potential savings by efficient use of water in the landscape in four areas: Water, Cost, Maintenance and Energy.

Since education is the key to long-term landscape water savings, the SmartScape Program provides education and training to members of the Green Industry, property managers and the residential community.  Activities include workshops, seminars, and field instruction.

WaterSmart workshops are designed for the residential community. SmartScape , Advanced SmartScape, Spanish SmartScape, Turf Irrigation, and Landscape Irrigation Auditor workshops are designed for members of the Green Industry.
