When you buy bamboo, be sure the variety is "clumping", not running, and you are not apt to have a problem.

People are intrigued by timber bamboo that are all, I believe, running. At the Cooperative Extension, we have two bamboo patches that have not changed significantly in size in ten years. Look at them
