America the Beautiful Fund is again offering grants of FREE SEEDS!
for community planting projects and we are excited to continue our
partnership with the Department of Interior's Take Pride in America
Program. Plant a Take Pride in America Garden and you will receive
official recognition of your project and be eligible for consideration of a
special Presidential award.
These are 2003-2004 seeds with the germination rates of
90-95%. Grants of 100 to 2,000 seed packets are being offered on the basis
of availability and relative need. America the Beautiful Fund is also
offering The Green Earth Guide containing illustrated gardening
instructions and ideas on involving the whole community in your
project. (It's available on CD_ROM as well as in paperback!) For
nutritional information, harvesting, storage and eating tips we offer
Gardening for Optimal Nutrition published by the Cortisa Press which is
available to you at more than HALF OFF the cover price of $2.25! With an
annual Membership contribution you will also have access to technical
assitance via our toll free member hotline, our newsletter and anouncements
of special events and grants.
Also, 2005 marks the 40th Anniversary of America the Beautiful
Fund and the 25th Anniversary of the Free Seed Program. To celebrate this
exciting milestone we are inviting you to have an America the Beautiful
Fund Birthday Party in your neighborhood to help raise funds to keep the
free seed program going in the future. If you have such a house party, we
will send you a party kit with 100 additional premium flower seed packets,
a Certificate of Appreciation from our Board of Trustees, tips and ideas
for your party and a sample press release for you to use for your local
media. We hope that this event will bring more public attention and
awareness to your project and how you are improving your community with
ABF's Free Seeds. To Request a FREE SEED! grant simply:
